December 30, 2015Cindy Fornelli, Executive Director, Center for Audit Quality, joins TK Kerstetter, host of “Inside America’s Boardrooms,” to discuss… Six Challenges Boards Should Expect in 2016.
Board Governance Best Practices | Episode Summary
Popular show guest Cindy Fornelli of the Center for Audit Quality joins host TK Kerstetter to look into the crystal ball and predict issues and challenges that will face boards in 2016.
While this show touches on some of the important issues that faced many boards during the previous year, Fornelli also looks at the bigger picture and cautions that, as disruptive forces grow, boards must be vigilant to avoid distractions that can change their core tasks at hand.
One prediction offered by Kerstetter will be interesting to watch and certainly debated: The mandatory retirement age on corporate boards will continue to creep toward 75 years old. Fornelli and Kerstetter discuss whether this predicted trend is a good thing or whether it hurts the need for board refreshment.
